2019 Masters Thread

If Tiger's playing in the Northern Trust Open and he's 1 down on the back nine on a Sunday, that's the sports story of the day, and everybody's watching. If Messi or Ronaldo are going against say Granada at the same time and a goal down with 5 minutes to play, I don't think people are stopping their tracks to see if they can pull it off.

:tard:

Messi and Ronaldo are likely both well-known in any country our president would refer to as a "shithole." Is Tiger? Do those countries have many golf courses?

Uh, ok. And when Tiger played in the final round of the Masters trying to win the tourney and complete one of the greatest comebacks in the history of pro-sports the broadcast pulled an average 7.7 rating in the US and a much smaller one globally. And when Messi was playing in the World Cup final in 2014 the game pulled an average 9.1 rating in the US and a global audience bigger than any sporting event ever broadcast. But please, continue.

Plus, wasn't it a Sunday at 8 pm compared to a Masters that was moved to the early morning with Tiger winning at around 2:30?

And wow fans not interested in watching a really good team play against Granada. Because, you know, that's the insanely stupid comparision the post was responding too. And yeah, it is demonstrable of just how little interest golf can actually generate relative to our No. 5 sport. I mean if the greatest player to ever play the game (per any here) is trying to complete the greatest comeback in the history of the game you'd think he'd be able to outdraw a game of our nation's No. 4 or 5 team sport being played in Brazil between Argentina and Germany, right?
