WH proposed releasing immigrant detainees in sanctuary cities, targeting pol. foes

I don't get how this is retribution against democrats...like, oh no, how dare you not force these people into concentration camps and instead free them in welcoming communities!

I was thinking the same thing.

Injecting metro economies with eager and affordable labor to own the libs!

It's amazing how quickly and easily those on the right become Trump sycophants.

Trump is a moron who demeans the office of the Presidency on a daily basis. Every now and then, he also says or discusses something hilarious (and which is usually still beneath the office, as is the case here). The notion of dumping them in sanctuary cities is just that, nothing more. It certainly wouldn’t make them easier to deport when their bullshit (yes, bullshit) asylum claims are dismissed, so it’s not like it’s some brilliant form of policy making. This is a schadenfreude move to call their bluff, pure and simple. Oh, you want em? You got em!

It takes some impressive bootstraps to walk 1000+ miles with family in tow in hopes of a better life.

This. I hope they take a job from some opioid-riddled idiot in Ohio.

Honest question for those defending this move or dismissing it as another Trumpian troll job:

What would you have said if Obama proposed bussing asylum seekers to heavy red areas around the country?

And it was a schaudenfraude move to call pubs bluff and teach them a lesson about tolerance. Oh you don’t want them because you’re afraid? Here you go...learn to live with them.

I actually think Jonathan Haidt has some interesting things to say, but an hour and a half?

And of course, sailor with reconcile that with the purveyor of bullshit conspiracy theory opinion that he typically is.

I didn't watch this presentation, but his views on how conservatives and liberals are shaped by their competitng value systems as to what they perceive as fairness has merit. The fact that he perceives that most people are centrist but that there is a small amount of extremists that dominate the dialogue, particularly on social media that drives us to the extremes has merit. The ideas that people vote against candidates instead of for them.

Are those red areas openly flouting federal laws and the attempts to enforce them?

How do you know people’s asylum claims are bullshit?
