Notre Dame on fire

i guess it depends on the bird. like if it's a canary wgaf but if it's a bald eagle, watch out

I saw a bald eagle the other day. just flying around being a bald eagle. pretty cool. didn't hear america the beautiful in the background, though

Birds have been landing on the roof of Notre Dame for centuries. Shouldn't be a problem.
How soon before the fire did it rain in Paris? I imagine the smell from tons of bird poop burning must have been atrocious.

That also begs to question, would you rather be hit with a 100 lb bag of flaming pigeon poop or a 100 lb bag of wet pigeon poop?

so did they just throw a big tarp over the roof or what to preserve what's inside from rain and bird shit and such

article in wall street journal this morning said that just putting up a temporary cover will be a significant effort that will probably take a long time. The entire roof is gone, which is about 400 feet long by 150 feet wide, and it's over a hundred feet in the air.

Amazingly, most of the stone ceiling under the roof did NOT collapse. There are some aerial photos here. https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/17/world/gallery/notre-dame-aerials-intl/index.html
