Messaging is easy for Republicans. Since their goal is not governing or coming up with solutions to complex problems to help Americans they don’t need to dabble in the nuance and gray areas that intellectual honesty would require them to acknowledge if that was their goal. Unfortunately nuance and gray area doesn’t make for good messaging in ads.
Republicans goal is power not policy. So their messaging doesn’t need to make any sense from a policy standpoint. It only needs to tap into shallow fear and ignorance from people who ultimately don’t care how the sausage is made.
Dems hear “build the wall” as a policy for immigration and think “that is stupid, that will do nothing, the problem is a lot more than that. While we agree immigration needs addressing there are a lot of complicating factors...” and so on. That’s all true. Everyone knows it. But it sounds like equivocation to a checked out rube who sorta hates brown people. They have no plan.
Meanwhile that dumbass Republican slogan sounds like they’re on top of things - forget that walls haven’t worked in millennia and they have no interest in actually building it. That’s a plan! Make America great again.

Oh and they have a propaganda network dedicated to stoking those fears to a level that rational nuance sounds weak by comparison. That helps the dumb messaging land too.

The logic of the Dem position is to try to impeach, plus an attempted impeachment process will help them raise contributions, so there's that. Mueller tried to give that process a shove. He looked feeble and had nothing new to say. It is rather cowardly for him to try to refuse questions but he might be ill.

To show how weak Dems are, they have let Jim Jordan get away with covering up for a serial sexual predator at Ohio State. While he was an assistant wrestling coach at O$U, another coach committed hundreds of sexual assaults of student-athletes. rather than face trial and go to prison, that evil, cowardly coach committed suicide.
Jordan has said he knew nothing about the years of abuse and was never told by any of the members of his teams. The problem with this is at least five former Buckeye wrestlers have told the press that they personally told him about it.
If a Dem had acted this abhorrently, Republicans would talk and tweet of nothing else until the bum quit. They would put his face everywhere from the internet to bus stops. But the Dems are too much of a group of cowards to simply tell the truth about heinous asshole.
They have abdicated their responsibility to the public for years. It's time they start tell Jordan's story before the hearings begin in earnest. But they won't.
