It's not politico, it's politifact. And your comment doesn't address your original argument, which is that the Trump and Obama Administrations had the same policy towards separating families, and that Trump didn't change anything. The politifact article flatly states that's not true.

The Trump administration argument isn't we can't afford soap and toothbrushes with the millions we are giving to private detention centers. The Trump administration is arguing children don't need soap and toothbrushes.

Why is it cool for people to cash in on these detention centers while children go without basic necessities?
