Trump -no soap, no toothbrush, no sleep for imprisoned children

The government was in court to appeal a 2017 ruling finding that child migrants and their parents were detained in dirty, crowded, bitingly cold conditions inside U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities along the southern border. Migrants are first taken to those facilities after they are apprehended at the border.

But although the conditions that were the subject of the 2017 ruling date back to the Obama administration...

Yeah this is such a BS claim. He's undone every other thing Obama did, why not this issue?

It's very simple. Anyone who is trying lessen the evil Trump is currently doing by trying to compare it anything that happened under Obama is showing the world that they have no morals, no conscience, no souls and how bigoted they are. They can try to justify all they like, but the reality is such actions and whataboutisms show their clear moral depravity.

If McConnell and Trump wanted to fix this, it could have been done already by a simple and clean bill.

...it doesn’t matter and the conditions should be fixed, not defended. Obama had many deplorable policies (e.g., drone war in Yemen, border detention) which could easily be reversed or changed. Trump has had no problem rolling back hundreds of Obama administration policies, like CO2 pollution policies, land protection policies, Iran policy, Paris Climate accord, and many many many more. This policy is so obviously deplorable and could be fixed immediately, no funding needed, just stop, but instead they spend money sending their lawyers to court to defend it.

Apparently, conservatives think that if they can somehow blame all of this on Obama, then it's not Trump's problem and they can just forget about it. They won't have to defend the Trump administration's actions at the border, nor will they have to answer any questions about how they, personally, feel and think about locking up kids without basic necessities. It's all Obama's fault, and Trump is just continuing this policy, so they're blameless, and Democrats are hypocrites for criticizing them (or Trump) about it. You can see this line of reasoning in the responses of those Trump supporters who were interviewed in Arizona. In most cases their response was "well, Trump is just carrying out an Obama policy, so I don't see what's wrong with it." Deflect and deny.

Remember when Republicans were all pissy about Democrats blaming Bush for getting us into the economic collapse that Democrats guided us out of?

Good times.

It's almost like the administration wants migrants to be sick and dirty to align with the propaganda:

It's not just that Trump has created these heinous conditions. He's going to court to promote and defend them. He is on a level never seen in this country.

If the Dems don't make this a major issue in the campaign, they don't deserve to win. There is no wiggle room here.

And we have killed 11 innocent children we put in jail...

If you have any morals, compassion or even a scintilla of human decency, you would know better than to use whataboutism, deflection or blaming others. There is nothing cute or provocative about engaging in anything other than 100% outrage.

I wonder how much of a kickback the Trump Organization is getting from the $775/day/kid.

The sad reality is Trump could come out tomorrow and say they’re spending $5 per kid per day plus $70 on staff and utilities and his family and the DeVos family are splitting the rest and Republicans would claim Democrats aren’t funding soap and toothbrushes because they want to use dirty kids for political reasons.

And I hope you reconcile this part of your life before you visit Saint Pete at the pearly gates.
