Our Border Patrol people are not hospital workers, doctors or nurses. The Democrats bad Immigration Laws, which could be easily fixed, are the problem. Great job by Border Patrol, above and beyond. Many of these illegals aliens are living far better now than where they.....

.....came from, and in far safer conditions. No matter how good things actually look, even if perfect, the Democrat visitors will act shocked & aghast at how terrible things are. Just Pols. If they really want to fix them, change the Immigration Laws and Loopholes. So easy to do!

If Dems can't use these tweets and Trump's actions to destroy him next year, the party should be disbanded.

If concentration camps are so bad, what's the left's plan?

Are they going to let all those people steal your jobs, your houses, your livelihood, your culture?

Why didn't the left stop those people before now?

The concentration camps are for their own good. Better than what they had before.


These are downright scary and cruel rhetoric and actions from Republicans. You should take a long look at your conscience.

And we need to better understand what’s actually driving that demand. Is Trump’s heavy-handed approach having the opposite of its intended effect?

Yes. Apparently people are trying to come before Trump closes the border.
 
I'm not sure what the US can do on the border to impact demand. People aren't leaving because of their own countries, not because of the US.
 
Oh look... a policy called “wait in Mexico” that practices “metering” which started in December 2018 (FY 19) is the most likely culprit for that big red spike beginning in January 2019. And who supports this policy despite experts warning that it would likely cause a spike in crossings?

The administration also has sought to keep asylum-seeking migrants in Mexico for longer periods of time.

Using a practice known as “metering,” border officials have forced families to wait in Mexico, only accepting a certain number of asylum applicants at ports of entry each day.

A September report by the DHS inspector general’s office found evidence that forcing migrants to wait at ports actually encouraged more people to cross illegally. The report cited a Border Patrol supervisor and accounts of several migrants who said they attempted to enter illegally after being turned away at a port.

“They’re afraid of waiting in Mexico until they can get in at the port,” said Theresa Cardinal Brown, director of immigration and cross-border policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center. “They’re balancing that against their desire to do it legally. And I definitely think its emboldening the smugglers to go to those who are waiting.”

McAleenan acknowledged during a December Senate committee hearing that metering could lead to an increase in the number of people attempting to cross the border illegally, saying it’s “certainly a concern.”

Still, the Trump administration has moved forward with a separate policy to keep asylum seekers in Mexico for extended periods of time.

The administration’s “remain in Mexico” policy — announced in late December and now implemented in several areas along the border — forces certain non-Mexican asylum seekers to wait in Mexico during the duration of an asylum case.

Blaming the detention/immigration policy at the border on Obama and the LibDems seems to be the right wing go-to strategy on social media right now. Anytime a liberal posts something on facebook about what's happening at the border and how awful and inhumane it is, almost invariably some conservative fb friend of theirs will post some version of "but Obama did the exact same thing...Trump's just carrying out his policies!" At the same time, they certainly seem to enjoy watching all those brown-skinned non-English speakers in cages, though.
