Where are the political anthems of today?

That's EXACTLY what I said.

What does "historically cheap price mean" to you?

What does "The $0.99 single of today is the equivalent of a quarter or less in those days" mean when the previous sentence said the cost in the 60s/70s was $0.49-/0.99?

Do you understand the English language at all??????

Relax man.

There is a difference between the what it costs to distribute an item to the consumer, and the sales price of an item. The item cost of a single in the 70's included manufacturing of the .45 (or whatever it was called). freight, duty, royalties, retail overhead etc... When you distribute singles in a digital format the costs to distribute the item to the consumer reduces drastically. Thus, if a single is sold at $.99 today the margin on the sale is significantly higher than it was when a single was sold for $.99 in the 70s.

That's EXACTLY what I was saying...

You jump to contusions all the time.

If catamount is jumping to contusions, there’s probably something wrong with his technique.

I’d pay full market price for this single

The $0.99 single thing would work out well for everyone. You could have a mixed album for $7-8 and everyone could be happy.

You should check out this brand new way to buy individual songs called iTunes. It’s bit underground, but I bet if you asked around, you could find it.

New Raphael Saadiq has some good political music.

From Riker's Island Redux:

America, America
Purveyor of mass hysteria
Mass production
And mass incarceration
The epitome of huddled masses yearning to breathe, free
The masses, masses, the masses, masses
Mass is the property of matter regardless of the state
But it seems we don't matter until we're properties of the state en masse
And massah's still trying to trick himself into believing he picked cotton too
And no matter how much I cow tow tap dance and jump through a bunch of hoops
I'll still be the one who winds up in a jumpsuit
I'll still be the one who winds up with the gun wounds
