Trump Rallying cry -Send Her back

Trump said those screaming "Send her back" are "incredible people" and "incredible patriots".

Sounds like the "many fine people" who were screaming "white power", "Jews will not replace us", "Sieg Heil", etc.

I'd never heard of Twitchy before. Apparently it's a "service" that curates Twitter and alerts conservative OWGs to what they should be outraged about. Perfect for the Sailors out there.

Trump and his supporters seem to be locked in to a pathological codependency involving semi-shared delusions and mutual defense of the indefensible.

Almost like there’s a lot of deplorable stuff/people there.

That nailed it. These losers, and they are most certainly losers who deserve zero respect, have found their hawker. They are nobodies and they are mad about it, and Trump assigns blame for them - minorities, educated and well-read coastal liberals, a media that exposes truths they don’t want to accept. Same thing despots do while they fleece their own people while blaming foreigners.

So to be clear, sailor (the poor soul who is probably a few months away from forgetting his name); 1) has yet been unable to muster the common decency to condemn the President's statements (the same President whom he steadfastly says he does not support) telling women of color to go back from where they came from; and 2) spends his time looking through fuckstick rightwing websites to common up with some ass-backwards justification for the comments.

Dementia is a real thing, folks.

Great piece. I liked his piece yesterday that emphasizes these people don’t deserve the focus they get from media or scared Dems.

The anti-Trump vote is the single largest coalition in American politics. That was true in 2016, despite Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the Electoral College. It was true in 2017, after Democrats won major victories in Virginia and Alabama. And it was true in 2018, when the anti-Trump coalition gave Democrats a majority in the House of Representatives.

Despite their influence, however, anti-Trump voters are practically invisible in recent mainstream political coverage. Instead, the focus is the president’s most fervent supporters, as it has been since 2015, when Trump came down his escalator and announced his campaign for the White House. This past week is a prime example.

...

The next most potent change is an increase in black turnout and support. African-Americans are the most heavily Democratic group in the country, with a large presence in many of the most competitive states. Small increases in their participation would have an outsize effect on the electoral landscape. The projections bear that out. Given population growth since the last election, if black turnout and support return to 2012 levels, Democrats win handily, with as much as an estimated 338 electoral votes and a five-point margin in the national popular vote.

You could make a strong case that the future success of the Democratic Party depends on its ability to mobilize and win over black Americans, a key group in a broad coalition of voters. We have post-Obama proof that this is true from the 2017 elections — where strong black turnout drove those Democratic victories in Virginia and Alabama — as well as in the 2018 midterms, where greater support and participation from black voters put black candidates within striking distance of statewide victories in Georgia and Florida.

But the press isn’t hyper-solicitous of the views of black voters. Cable news doesn’t constantly turn to swing-state focus groups of black Democrats to gauge their opposition to the president. And Democrats in Congress aren’t worried about demobilizing a group that may determine the next election. Just the opposite — some moderates believe the party has spent too much time challenging the president’s racism and showing solidarity with their nonwhite constituents.

Trump is trying to rally his base, intimidate black voters and educated women voters, and get Dems to focus on his base instead of their own.

Two of those are working.

President Trump "broadly declared Friday that no one should criticize the United States while he is president, part of a renewed attack on four minority congresswomen whom he has targeted as un-American...Trump said Friday that criticism of the United States is unacceptable and that the four congresswomen "can't get away with" it..."I can tell you this, you can't talk that way about our country, not when I'm the president," he told reporters outside the White House." When a reporter pointed out that every American has the right of free speech under the First Amendment, Trump responded by saying that "We have First Amendment rights also, we can say what we want." The article says that Trump was "unclear" as to who "we" was referring to.

So from 2012 to 2016 Trump says and tweets all sorts of bad things about America under Obama, but now that he's the POTUS you're not supposed to say anything negative? LOL. As usual, it's really all about him, not the country. He doesn't care about people saying bad things about America, it's that they're criticizing him in the process. That's the problem. Congrats, Trumpites, you've elected your very own tinhorn Banana Republic strongman! #maga

This is truly amazing. How do you do it sailor?

Projection. Too insecure in his beliefs to realize Trump’s rallies by definition display nazi-istic characteristics, so Trumpers have to project their misguided feelings on the “other side” to make themselves feel better about their adult choices.
