BBall Recruiting Thread 2k20 - Watson/Adams - Gibson/Bailey ('20) & James ('21) Gone

Marcus Watson should absolutely not sign an LOI in the early signing period. Keep the commitment if he likes, but no reason at all to tie himself down to a sinking ship. He probably will get much better offers in the spring anyway when teams suddenly have an unexpected schollie or an unexpected hole to fill.

Who would have thought? At the bottom of the 247 page there is a listing of the 25 highest rated Wake Forest recruits. Four could be on next years team. Chaundee Brown #5. Isaiah Mucius #15. Marcus Watson #24. Ismael Massoud #25.

Two comments on the "all time" title. It isn't. Only 64 names on it. Maybe a list of recruits since 2000 or so. Or Maybe since 247 has been in existence. But no RoRo= not "all time."

Also Andre Washington with an 0.8444 composite, yet Natl 2, pos 1, st 2 rankings is puzzling. As is ranking Micheal Wynn (natl 424) above Kyle Visser (natl 230) and Tyler Cavanaugh (natl 242). Something seems off in the list.

I mean, being higher ranked than Jeremy Ingram and Samuel japhet Mathias is not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Ten years ago, four of our five commits were members of the ESPN Top 100, and all five were rated in the 90s. Today, None of our commits are rated higher than 79 and none are in the ESPN Top 100.

Recruits in the top 100 (arguably 75-100) is where we should focus and win. Kids good enough to be pros but need at least 2-3 years of development from coaches in world class facilities to get there. Obviously...a ways to go...

Been saying this for years. The UVA model, sort of. Which we should be able to totally replicate (but with our own version of Bennett).

You had my full attention until you added "development from coaches" WTF have you been watching for 6 years?

While it is way too early to make a hard and fast judgement on him, Coleman is averaging 11 mpg with 1ppg and 2,5rpg. for ECU

My judgement is based on the fact that he was ranked #342 coming out of high school, not that he has played both poorly and sparingly off the bench for a 1-3 AAC team.
