BBall Recruiting Thread 2k20 - Watson/Adams - Gibson/Bailey ('20) & James ('21) Gone

If people have not seen it. NCAA has extended the dead period to May 31st.
Coaches can call, text, facetime with prospects but can not visit them in person and cannot have them visit campus.

This officially means no Spring AAU ball as well, and most coaches do not expect the summer AAU season to happen as usual. They are hoping there might be one week at some point late in the summer with games, but right now they are not counting on it.

And while this is a basketball thread i'll add that the odds of their being any summer football camps on campus with HS teams and recruits is very low at this point.

I like Watson's lefty shot. He's going to have to change his number (22) at Wake.

Here's a little not about him in Chicago city championship game:

"Seconds later, Watson swished a jumper from the wing. When it was all said and done, Watson’s furious run produced 13 points in 77 seconds. The exciting comeback came up just short after his 3-pointer from the top of the key with 4 seconds left cut Simeon’s lead to 80-76."

He had 28/ 4 assists in that 32 minute game.

top 5 on ESPN are all going to strange schools.

USC, OkSU, FL st, Zags...

Still chance to land a big fish in North Carolina.

2020 recruiting cycle is pretty much done. If they aren't committed there is a reason.

As for school choices, Mobley to USC because his brother goes there, Cunningham to OK State because his brother is a coach there, Barnes stayed local with FSU over the blue bloods and FSU has been ranked top-10 the last 2 years, Suggs to Gonzaga because they recruited him the hardest when a lot of schools thought he may choose football over basketball. None of the choices were strange with the context behind them.

Here are the rankings for the top grad transfers:

Ian DuBose is rated #32. Here is the scouting report:
"Good size, can score all three levels, and he’s creative — more athletic than you think. But they [Houston Baptist] play as fast as they can, so his stats are a little skewed. He’s disinterested on defense at best, but that’s more because of their team and style.”

Also, according to this list, WF is involved with two other grad transfers that have yet make their decision:

15) Amauri Hardy, 6-2, 190, SG, Jr., UNLV
Stats: 14.5 ppg
Scout’s take: “Dynamic ball-in-hand guard. Outstanding finisher at the rim and very capable from 3. He can definitely play at the high-major level.”
Schools: Oregon, Seton Hall, Maryland, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, TCU, Wake Forest, USC, Arizona State

28) Quan Jackson, 6-4, 180, G, Grad, Georgia Southern
Stats: 13.6 ppg
Scout’s take: “Very aggressive and athletic wing who is an effective downhill transition player. Needs to become a more consistent perimeter shooter.”
Schools: North Texas, URI, Wake Forest, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Georgia, Oregon State, ETSU, FAU, FIU, Stephen F. Austin, Cal State Fullerton

31) Mattias Markusson, 7-3, 261, C, RS Jr., Loyola Marymount
Stats: 10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg (2018-19)
Scout’s take: “High-character young man. Legit 7-3. Good hands and a double-double guy. Works hard and driven to be good. Tremendous shooting touch.”
Schools: Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Southern Miss, Minnesota, San Diego State, Arizona State, Washington State, Arkansas, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Boise State, Seton Hall, Utah, Louisville, Texas Tech

For WF to bring in anyone else for next season, someone in addition to Wynn and Wright must leave.

Good pick-up for the Cards. Finally, one of my predictions comes true. But that one made too much sense so I'll give myself only partial credit.

Why is Dijmon Bailey listed as Adventures. Am I missing the joke?

Totally psyched to put together my minutes distribution chart!

It’s a joke about his name being similar to Digimon.

Michigan's Colin Castleton has entered the transfer portal. He'd be a nice pickup for the Deacs. Recruited to Michigan by John Beilein.
