The 2019 College Football Thread ! LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS ! CLEMSON SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!

Etienne coming back makes no sense whatsoever. Even a guy like Najee Harris theoretically has something to prove by playing a full season at the level he ended 2019. Etienne has back to back 1600 yard, 8 yard per carry seasons at Clemson. You quite literally cannot improve on that.

man, we should be cheering a dude who comes back for his senior year. Good for him. Gets a chance at another natty, can make ACC history, get a degree, party with sorority girls, etc. NFL will still be there next year, but you only get one senior year as a football player. Now, fingers crossed he doesn't get hurt because then it was a bad decision :)

VT WR Damon Hazelton leaving as a grad transfer. He had 7 rec, 86 yards against us last year. He was All-ACC in 2018.

Clemson could easily pull an Ohio State and have 2 in New York for the Heisman award next year.

Has Hinton or Washington done anything in their respective senior bowls?

King transfers to Miami. Immediately provided a significant upgrade to Miami’s QB situation.

Scotty Washington suited up but didn’t play? Weird!

He posted a picture and he look like he wasn’t dressed. Could be wrong. But it looked like after the game on the field, with no pads or anything else on.

Heels pick up FCS All-american kicker from Furman, remedying a big problem from last season.

During his three years at Furman, Atkins converted on 33 of his 41 field goals and 132 of his 138 extra point attempts. Last season saw him convert all six of his attempts from under 40 yards, while going 7-for-9 from beyond that distance–including a successful try from 55 yards.

UNC struggled in the kicking department in 2019, with starter Noah Ruggles dealing with inconsistency all season long. Head coach Mack Brown gave backup Jonathan Kim a chance in the team’s win over Duke, but made the switch back to Ruggles after Kim missed on his first field goal attempt.

Exactly! While rare these days I certainly applaud him and believe it, he will have PLENTY of insurance just in case he does get hurt. Irrespective of which way he went, it was his decision and he made it. Clemson will be back in the playoffs next season unless they somehow have that bad loss to a Louisville or maybe even at Notre Dame.

Clemson's gonna be in the Championship game v Ohio St. in 2021, a rematch for the ages. Can't predict the winner, but I'm confident the 2 teams will be there.

UCONN is leaving the American Athletic Conference (where they haven't won a game since 2017) to join the Big East after this season, but the Big East doesn't offer BCS football; so, they are going to be a BCS independent in 2020. They have won 3 games over the last 2 years:

Wagner
UMASS
Rhode Island

Just a complete disaster. Wouldn't be surprised if they reclassified to the FCS level (where they wouldn't even be very good). UMASS should do the same, another complete mess.

Also, Syracuse lost their defensive coordinator, less than two weeks after hiring him. Zach Arnett was hired from San Diego State (who played great defense) on January 11, but he quit yesterday to take the DC job at Mississippi State. At this time a year ago, the impression was that the Syracuse football program was on the rise. Now they will be on their 4th DC in less than 4 months.

how insurable is a projected 2-3 rd running back? aren't those policies hard to collect, even for top QBs? feel like it's a near certainty he's costing himself pretty serious money, if for no other reason what pilch said about just having one more year on his body. although the fact he doesn't really play 4th quarters should help that concern. and he's going to destroy the ACC RB record book.
