ATP: Santa Rosa, CA

All wise posters:

I have a job offer in Santa Rosa. I am out here for a 2 days visiting the job site and trying to get a feel for the area. The job would involve moving my whole family (wife, 3 daughters 8 and under) across the country from South Carolina.

Obviously there is a significant difference in cost of living with housing being the biggest cost.

Can anyone tell me about the area? Quality of life? Real talk. There is only so much you can decipher online. My brother lives in Oakland but even that is a different scene.

Have you ever been out to Napa and Sonoma ? Obviously it's a beautiful area. I have no idea about living there.

Was just out in Petaluma for a wedding and it was absolutely lovely. I could easily live out there if not for the costs.

you could also hang out with Guy Fieri. he lives there.
