CONOR Football News 2020

The comp numbers for Clawson and Cutcliffe are from the 2017 tax year Form 990's so obviously his increase from the extension announced earlier this year is not reflected.

Also for the love of God, notice the uncovered receiver at the bottom of the screen and the 2-on-1 at the top of the screen.

Umm. That should have been a TD easily on the 4th and 2 play that Greer blew up in the first half. How does Blackman or a coach not see that???

One of the things that comes to mind is Kendal Briles coaches and calls plays from the sideline. As I wrote, he's gotta be one of maybe 3-4 in the ACC who does that.

I think Urban will end up at USC. If Jerry Jones calls, that could be where he ends up too.

Agreed! A different take on the 5 points of skepticism albeit probably too overly generalized:
(Premise: Clawson coached teams get better as the season progresses.)
1. WF will not “replace” Strnad but will definitely fill this gap very well. Williams is top notch and may be as good or better in coverage as these games play out.
2. Masterson’s versatility and knowledge will not be exactly replaced but the athleticism of Redd and Rucker will make up the difference.
3. Indeed, if the run game in short yardage fails to improve then there are definitely more losses than anticipated going forward. Candidly, our RBs, not the OL so much, have been very inconsistent. Blame the slow RPO too if you want but from Walker to Carney to CBS it’s been lacking. All four areas, Clawson, OL, QB, and RBs need to find the same page to improve quickness and timing for this RPO or surprise designed play to have any production.
4. Yes on ST if the blunders don’t clear up WF likely loses more close ones than it wins going forward.
5. Based on the premise that Clawson & Co. teams improve as the season goes along, WF can continue its winning ways which has nothing to do with luck but has everything to do with performance meeting opportunity (see #s 3 and 4).
Conor’s analysis is right on the important issues. Another good work of writing too!

Now the Deacons expect to see another team that plays a three-linemen front.

“We’ve certainly faced it before, but we haven’t faced it yet this year,” Clawson said.
