PFF uses their own metrics to give out these weekly awards, there is no subjective nature beyond what is included in the metrics - simply the highest graded players at the positions they have.

PFF evaluates more than just stats.

By the way, USU MLB Woodward made their National Week 1 team.

As he should have. 24 tackles in a game is ridiculous. It’s actually a pretty good season for some players.

Realize it's early (6 career starts), but at some point Newman has got to be getting some NFL attention.

Newman checks all of the physical attribute boxes and he produces on the field. Big body, big arm, touch and can run.

I was thinking the same thing. If he does well against ACC competition, I'm sure he'll get some really good looks in 2021.

I think Newman's decision making is pretty good for the limited action he has seen and will only get better. It will also get a lot faster.

Having been at the USU game and seeing Newman v Love, I thought Love threw a faster ball, just a little more zip, especially early in the game.

Still a very high ceiling for Newman to explore. He's got plenty of good WRs and can be as good as his OL allows him to be.

So for the first 2 weeks, Jamie has been QB of the week, beating out Trevor Lawrence twice (so far).
We’ve also had several others listed on both offense and defense.
My, how far we’ve come. Let’s keep going.

Newman rushing TD named Top ACC Play of Week.

I slacked off yesterday and Conor summed most of it up.

Surratt was WR of the week for the second time. Sage and Scotty have been the only WRs of the week this season.
Boogie was DL of the week
Greer was DB of the week

Three commits were named to the NC Shrine Bowl team:

Three players who are verbally committed to Wake Forest — two running backs — were selected Sunday to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
Running backs Ahmani Marshall of East Forsyth and Quinton Cooley of Southern Nash and linebacker Shane Whitter of Burlington Williams were picked to the North Carolina team for the long-running all-star event, which will be played Dec. 21 in Spartanburg, S.C.
Marshall (6-1, 205) has 458 yards and five touchdowns on 60 carries (7.6 yards per carry). He’s a legacy pick to the Shrine Bowl – his father, Malcolm Marshall, played in the 1989 game before heading to North Carolina.
Cooley (5-8, 193) has 609 yards and 14 touchdowns on 46 carries (13.2 yards per carry), and another 156 yards and four touchdowns on eight receptions. He’s run for more than 100 yards in all four of the Firebirds’ games, including a 225-yard, five-touchdown performance this past Friday. He has 19 total touchdowns and three two-point conversions — he currently leads the state with 120 total points.
Whitter (6-1, 230) has 39 tackles, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery in four games. He’s also lined up at a few different offensive positions, and has three catches for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

Sage, Maginn, and Herron made PFF ACC Team of the Week Offense.

Sage named to the PFF Team of the Week.

How could Strnad not make the defensive team with 15 tackles. He was everywhere.

Thanks for the link, Ph.

Would've thought Strnad and Boogie as locks to make PFF team, but whatever their formula is, they didn't. [insert shrug emoji]
