They are going at +800/+900 to win the damn thing on most sportsbooks. I don't like to bet on my teams but those odds are crazy nice for a team this good.
    beer and titties

It’s shocking how little respect they’re getting still. Ned is an elite goalie this season. Offense fired on all cylinders tonight & turbo seems to have gotten off to a hot start back. MoneyPuck has us at 7.4% to win the cup which is 6th. Athletic has us at 7%, also 6th.

NHL playoffs are a funny thing, that incredible lightning squad got bounced first round just a couple years ago.

But this team is firing on all cylinders. Now that the inconsistent goaltending has been locked down it’s hard to find major holes in the team.

Didn’t even see the post above, seems we agree on “firing on all cylinders”

Tom Wilson should be suspended for the rest of the season, so that's nice. Fuck that guy.

This Canes team feels like the Cup team. No "super star" but a ton of really good players. The defense is elite, with the single best pairing in hockey. The top line is nasty, but on any given night the second line of Necas/Trocheck/Nino can carry the team. Rod has done a lot of tweaking over the season, but it seems he's kept that second line intact for the better part of the year. I'm a fan, they play really fast. Even the fourth line is going to be dangerous throughout the playoffs if we can get one of McGinn or Marty back. Geekie is turning into a very legit wing.

This is a much better team than the 2019 ECF team, for two main reasons. First, the skill level is much higher with Aho and Svetch developing, plus the emergence of guys like Necas and the addition of guys like Trocheck. Second, we're a lot tougher. Paquette and Hakanpaa are there for a reason. With them on the ice, there won't be another series like Boston where we get shoved around like that.

I really hate this new playoff format. I feel like the 'Canes biggest hurdle is going to be Tampa. They'll draw them in the second round. Can we get rid of this divisional playoff pairing setup and go back to seeding the conference?

A Carolina v. Colorado final would be fun.

NHL has no backbone. They'll suspend Wilson for the first two games of the playoffs and move on.

With any other player, I agree, but the NHL has had Wilson in their cross hairs for a while. Wilson will be gone for the last 4 regular season games, and probably at least 5 post-season games. The NHL full of bad asses. Just weird how Wilson pummels and intimidates the rest of the league. Scary dude. Heard that when Wilson was playing junior hockey, he was the same. Everyone knew that he was the one guy that no one f'd with.

I’m gonna be incredibly sad if Rod goes to Seattle. Need to get that man signed yesterday.

I was wrong. Wilson was fined $5,000. He won't miss any time on the ice.

    Did I say no backbone?????

Is that a rumor? I'd have to overcome my distaste for the Kraken name if we landed The Bod.

Kinda picking up steam, yes. The connection of Rod & Ron Francis makes me nervous. And the fact that Dundon is kinda cheap and was laughed at amongst coaches for his lowball offers.

A short and sweet response I saw: "I expected nothing and I'm still let down." DoPS is fucking clown show.

He could've seriously injured or maimed Panarin last night (He DID injure him to some extent - he's out for the season). The Buchnevich slam was tough to watch, too, and that's the entire rationale behind the 'fine'.

The League had the opportunity to tighten the leash on reckless behavior (on a crazy, repeat offender), and they said "nothing to see here - enjoy the rematch on NBCSN Wednesday at 7pm ET!"

PS - I absolutely hate having him on my team. He's universally reviled & there's a contingent of very vocal defenders who claim allegiance to the same team. It fucking sucks.

Did you all see the tweet from the OFFICIAL Washington Capitals twitter account? I have no idea how anyone thought this was a good idea. And then they left it up for thirty minutes.

Canes with points in 12 straight (9 W, 3 OTL). Perhaps even more important, Svetch with 2 goals. Would be great to have him rolling come the playoffs.

Having Turbo back is going to help Svetch a lot. That top line is a handful.
