Against Louisville, it was interesting in our inability to kick the ball out of the end zone. This is important for a couple of reasons. 1) if we kick it out of the end zone, it eliminates the big run back. 2) No injuries on kick offs. Against Louisville multiple big runs and we lost Masterson for the season.

Also, punting it seems our punter rarely has the ability to punt a consistent high deep ball. He typically holds the ball to long and punts either deep with not ideal hang time or short with hang time. Against Louisville, there was a big run back.

Unfortunately, all the great accomplishments with field goals are offset by kicking and punting.

Upcoming weeks we need to kick the ball out of the end zone, and we need 40 yard punts with hang time.

yeah, in addition to our kickers kicking the ball farther and higher, all of our players should try to run faster and be stronger

this would help a lot in all phases of the game

We also need unicorns as mascots, more butts in the seats, and our Pale Ale brewery.

I do agree that Sciba was getting the ball 5 yards or so deeper at the start of the season. We might see Murphy kicking off if he can kick it deeper. But generally speaking, some teams have kickers that can kick it out of the end zone and some don't. They don't exactly grow on trees and you only have so many schollies. Ditto for punters.

This ain't the NFL. In college, you end up starting players that won't, ya know, make it in the NFL. Because they are college players, not NFL ones.
