First time in school history to go to bowl games in 4 straight seasons

Clawson is an all time great.

That was my first reaction after the initial joy and relief. I thought I’d want Grobe to be here forever but he didn’t get the facilities and things slid downhill. This staff never stops building. 80 recruits last week and maybe sixty this week with a good class committed already. Clawson is building a sustainable and upwardly mobile program and I hope he has found a home in Winston for many years to come.

With 4 straight bowl seasons, Clawson has taken us to a place where we have never been. He has gotten us to the place where bowl seasons and 6 or 7 or 8 wins are the expectation. Now he needs to take us to the next level with 8 or 9 or 10 wins is the expectation. I think that he can get us there.

It's very likely that the real USC and UCLA will be in the market for new coaches. It's also likely that one of them will offer Urban Meyer a record contract. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them doesn't interview Clawson. Michigan might also be looking, but seeing the way they went after Juwan Howard, they might look for someone with a Michigan history.

The slow RPO Wake runs is philosophically, an extension of the "take what the defense will give you." On each play, the slow RPO plus Wake receivers makes the defense commit to do something. The Wake QB needs to recognize what that is, and then run the part of the option the defense us not trying to stop as much.

We are starting to look like Stanford east coast.

Our style of play will allow us to attract players that want huge stats. Also, we should attract depth since we run so many plays, therefore more injuries and need to play 2&3 deep.

Granted he’s never coached a Manning, but Clawson deserves all the reverence that Cutcliffe is always getting

Why would anyone want to move to California now? Especially someone like Clawson.

And right now, that is the difference. Clawson needs to send a first round QB to the NFL. Then he will get the props he deserves. Jamie might be that guy, if he can stsy healthy.

Why wouldn't a college coach want $5M/year? I think Meyer is more likely to get the USC gig than UCLA, because USC is a private school that has no one to ask if they want to pay a coach $8M+/year.

Have you ever seen UCLA's campus? It's an island.

If you are alluding the new law, the NCAA has no choice but to knuckle under. They aren't giving up two of the Top 10 (4 of the Top 30) media markets in the country and 12% of the US population to prove a point.

Might as well make it 4/4 in the win column, too. We have a chance to move up the rankings...

BOWL RECORD (*minimum 10 games)

1. Marshall (12-2-0) .857
2. Utah (17-5-0) .773
3. San Jose State (7-3-0) .700
4. Wake Forest (9-4-0) .692
5. Louisiana Tech (7-3-1) .682
6. Boise State (12-6-0) .667
7. Oklahoma State (19-10-0) .655
8. USC (34-18-0) .654
9. Ole Miss (23-13-0) .639
10. Penn State (29-16-2) .638

Funny to see tOSU 24-25 and ranked 45th. Guess they've always played shitty schedules and gotten their asses kicked in bowl games. Who knew?

Because Cali is a socialist tax toilet?

If CA were a country, it would have the seventh largest GDP. Sounds like it's really a socialist haven.

NC has about 10.4M people and a GDP of $450B. CA has a population of 39.6M and a GDP of $2.75T. Proportionally, CA has 600% of NC's GDP but less than 400% of its population. Seems like CA can teach NC a lot about capitalism.

Yeah, bro. But our ocean is warmer.

You’re right RJ, Clawson’s going to Univ of SoCal.

You’re a moron.

BeachBum, do you want to make this the official bowl speculation thread?

CBS Sports - Belk Bowl vs. Miss State (Clemson in; UVa vs. ND in Orange; Big Ten in Citrus)
247 Sports - Belk Bowl vs. Miss State (Clemson in; UVa vs. LSU in Orange; Big Ten in Citrus)

Mississippi State will be lucky to make a bowl.
