2020 College Basketball Coaching Carousel

I mean, Iona has without question been the better program than WF over the last 10 years...

Definitely. Didn't realize they had been to four NCAA Tournaments in a row. Down year this year, but that's impressive.

Shocked the coaching carousel thread missed this little gem.

manning OUT and M Fing FORBES IN!

The coaches to watch over the next couple of years are the ones who can identify talent not in the Top 30 as most of those will be going to the G-League.

So, basically just coaches who can identify and get commits from the best available talent like they do now. All the G-league does is knock out a few of the top players. The best players left are still the best players left. It MIGHT bring a little more partiy by knocking down the talent on the tip-top teams, but it really doesn't change who succeeds. The best schools/coaches will still attract the best talent like they do today, and they may even be better off getting 2-3 years out of that talent and their great coaching rather than the 1 year they are getting from some top players now. It may not add any parity at all.

He made other shots in that game other than the insane game winner.

IMHO, it simply changes the blue blood summoning group from top 25 to 25-50. Or it will still be top 25, just re-ranked "college eligibles" with the G-league guys removed.

However, those guys going to college are going to have to study to stay eligible for year two.

It wasn't nearly as much about "taking the heat" as it was about finding the re$ource$ when lots of funding $ource$ were dry or diminished.

He took heat for not firing DFL last year, for not firing him during the season, for not firing him the night we lost in ACC, for not firing him March, or in April during a Global Pandemic. See jackass formerly known as 2&2 to Leyritz. My point was JC took action, others are waiting for the market rally and the all clear signal.

Currie did fire Manning in April during a global pandemic.

DFL deserved to have been fired several years back even if there was World War III also taking place at the time. :dumb:

Stackhouse is doubling down on the lack of experience on his staff. Bold (and questionable move) coming off a 11-21 (3-15 season; with a projected NBA 1st round pick - Aaron Nesmith).
