Wake/VT 11/9 - 3:30 Kickoff, ACC Network

Man, I just counted and Grobe and Lobo pissed away 11 games we should have won from 2007-2009. They should have built a mini-dynasty, but instead picked grass, called horrible offensive game-plans, and stopped recruiting. 3 more in 2011 as well.

I had forgotten that we were 5-7 Skinner's last year. Sad way to go out. Looks like we could have won 8-9 games that year as well.

This. So much this. Yet so many fans were fine with it.

Definitely not. People tend to forget, but the 2008 BC game was huge. Last ACC game of the season and if we win, we win the Atlantic division again. We ended up losing to a Dominque Davis led team that we really should have beaten. That was a rough loss. We ended up in the EagleBank bowl (it was freezing), instead of challenging for another Orange Bowl berth.

That year was peak Lobo. We lost 4 ACC games. Here were our scoring drives in the second halves of those games:

@Maryland (L 26-0, 13-0 in second half): None
@Miami (L 16-0, 13-0 in second half): None. Riley's line: 3-8, 57 yards.
@NCSU (L 21-17, 7-3 in second half): Scoring drive was 4 plays for 6 yards after Arnoux recovered a fumble at the NCSU 13.
BC (L 24-21, 8-14 in second half): First scoring "drive" was a defensive touchdown off a Wilber strip-sack. Second was a one-play, one-yard touchdown drive following a blocked punt by Phonze.

In the second halves of those four games, the offense mustered two combined scoring drives, in which they gained a grand total of seven yards. Criminal incompetence.

FWIW, Lobo is in his 5th year as an assistant at AF. He is their OL coach.

This. Is. Awful.

That was the year we really started to feel the loss of the Fresh Deacs defensive personnel but also Dean Hood

that was the year of the split-wide FB, no?

So pumped/nervous for this game... Going to be hard to sleep tonight.

Sam got his first ACC win against FSU in an ugly game where he only got us in the end zone one time. Everyone agrees he gets us three touchdowns Saturday and the defense steps up for the third week in a row.

Happy for Sam he deserves it.

What are you talking about?

Not only is deaconbd a troll, but he is wrong too. Sam beat Louisville last year, so FSU was not his first ACC win.

Yeah, not sure where he pulled that out of. I will be extremely surprised if Jamie isn’t a go.
