Reasonable point. I imagine my ratio of things consumed:things of value owned is rather out there. I think the most valuable item that I own may well be a leather chair and ottoman I bought when 22 years old. Not sure I own any other item that initially cost more than $1k.

Do you aren't really concerned with the economics of the transaction, which is fine. But don't pretend otherwise.

And NYC wasn't "giving" Amazon anything. They were providing rebates on considerable tax revenue that an Amazon headquarters would have brought to Queens, not to mention all of the associated business that it would have brought with it.

Geez, Chris. That was sad. All that time Bed Bath & Beyond was providing coupons not giving them.

Bed bath and beyond isn't giving away anything there either. Those coupons have no inherent value.

Ok well while you’re here being annoying here’s a better argument: Amazon is now setting up shop in Hudson Yards which was a blatant funneling of money to developers from the city, a pervasive problem in New York!
 
Just booked my xmas trip to Aspen/Denver. Just read that the inventor of the internet says it's at the tipping point where it might no longer be an invention for the greater good. Denver hotel is booked within a 1 minute walk of 50 pinball machines. I disagree.

Not being annoying at all. Give and provide don't mean the same thing, and I can demonstrate to you several distinctions if you would like.

Regarding Hudson Yards, this was reported when Amazon indicated they were bailing on Queens HQ. Hudson Yards is a huge mega-business location where the incremental investment really isn't going to add anything. Putting that HQ in Queens would have been a huge net win for the area.
 
P sweet this saints niners game isn't on national TV out here. Fox has to show the Chargers vs Jaguars 4PM game.

I assume the point is that we are at a 50-50 point where any internet good is balanced by internet bad. Somebody else probably just used the internet to download child porn or some perv booked an Airbnb within a few minutes of a preschool playground.
