In NC, the home is purchased as is when the contract is signed. They were stupid to close and lost all leverage. It's now your choice on what you'll do. I personally don't think they would win a small courts claim, even with the email agreements. They closed on the house, that would void the emails IMO. Again, not saying that's the "right" thing to do, but by law I think you're "in the clear".
