my favorite albums of 2019

while it was 2018, Lenker's solo album was nice too

Looking back, there were definitely fewer 2019 albums that I got into than in prior years. I feel like I spent more time in 2019 listening to 2018 albums that I was late getting around to (e.g., Caroline Rose).

I really liked the new New Pornographers, Helado Negro, and Bon Iver albums. Generally liked the Deerhunter, William Tyler, and Steve Gunn albums. Haven't spent enough time with Sharon Van Etten or either Big Thief album, although I like those artists. Never really got into the new albums by DIIV, The National, or Vampire Weekend, even though I like their other stuff.
 
Just picked up my Sharon Van Etten tix for April.

Think some people are sleeping on Yola's "walk through fire" debut. Produced by Dan Auerbach.
 
I'm currently enjoying my first uninterrupted listen of the entire Lizzo album.
