Burchfield last year represented the Republican National Committee and Trump’s reelection campaign in a pre-election legal challenge to North Carolina extending the deadline for receiving mail-in ballots in the 2020 race. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected the case.

He was previously an outside ethics adviser to the Trump Organization but said Thursday he no longer holds that role.

I dont think the position that education should be tethered to voting rights would have the effect they desire.

Is that their position? If it is education, it would probably be high school education which would give white people a considerable edge.
 
It would probably be you have to pay taxes to vote, so those below the income tax threshold can’t vote and the Uber rich who don’t pay now will just tell their accountants to adjust the formula to have them pay $1 in taxes.
 
So in order to go to the polls, you have to pay taxes. Surely they wouldn’t be so blatant to go back to poll taxes.
