Man, the Colts are in great shape.

That doesn't figure in a QB salary. There is talk about bringing Rivers back. If they bring his noodle of an arm back, what they did this season is probably their ceiling. Put a better QB on that team and add a WR, and you're talking about a SB contender. They should go after Stafford or Rodgers if either is available.

$50M or so in cap space is plenty to bring in a better QB to go with a good roster.

Rivers' hail mary from the Buffalo 47 didn't even make it to the end zone. Compare that to the deep dimes Fields dropped against Clemson. Something to be said for a younger arm.

Is there some middle ground between signing Dwayne Haskins and trading 20 first round draft picks for Deshaun Watson ?

Picking Trey Lance and hoping Teddy plays like he did before his injury last year.

Maybe this Haskins thing is a smokescreen whereby we sign Haskins and fawn all over him and make everyone belieive we feel like we're set at quarterback and have no intention of drafting a quarterback. So nobody tries to trade up because we're not interested and then BOOM, we take Wilson, who turns out to be the obvious best quarteback in the draft, and then we release Haskins the next day.

Seems like there are enough teams in front of us now that might go QB regardless

The word from Person is that Rhule recruited Haskins when he was at Temple. Maybe Rhule really liked him and is kicking the tires now. We’ve got no GM or QB coach. Most likely scenario, we switch out Grier for Haskins and see what happens with the draft. Tepper and Rhule are lukewarm at best on Teddy.

Of course the Panthers staff could fall in love with Newman at the Senior Bowl.

If Rhule just wants to bring in every guy he coached or recruited at freaking Temple, I don't think I'd want to be the GM either.

Why the interest in Haskins, except maybe as a 3rd string reclamation project. He was awful at WFT, and the word was his work ethic was poor. And the incident at the end says enough right there.

we've interviewed 14 GM candidates. seems like a lot.

Well a lot of teams are interviewing GMs. Reading up on Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, he seems like a Tepper guy. Major finance backup. Data guy. Was with the Niners during their SB run.

Omar Khan from the Steelers is interviewing for jobs. Tepper knows him. Apparently he’s who the Texans search firm recommended.
