Maybe it's just time to give up

Right. With Texas on board the economy could be okay for a while in a split similar to the above but realistically what is the base of the economy for the red states there - especially compared to the blue states?

All the automotive plants that are currently in the South and the satellite plants that feed them. BMW in Spartanburg employees 11K by itself. Volvo and Boeing in lower part of SC employ close to 10K. A number of other big ones in GA, AL, MS. Plus TVA in TN and NC. Plenty of employment opps in South as there are and wouldn't be any unions.
 
Those plants are in the US. Would they stay in Trumpland or would foreign companies be shamed into divesting?
 
The problem with that map is that everybody decent would move out West. You think California is overcrowded now? Just wait until all the Florida/Texas Yankee transplants move there instead.
