Wake Football Spring practice updates

Last year I felt, even if there was a drop-off in performance, we had plenty of names at WR for guys that could play. This year, it's the starters (Surratt, Greene, Roberson), then seemingly everyone else. We really need either or both of Perry and Groulx to break out this spring in order to give us some depth, or else we are well and truly screwed if we have any injuries with those top 3 guys.

Also, beyond those 5 guys, who else is there? Morin and Banks? So a true freshman and a redshirt freshman? Seems like an injury to WR this year would hurt even more than it did last year.

They'll get the Stanford transfer, Donald Stewart, in the summer. Isaiah Isaac should return in summer or early fall from a torn ACL.

Morin looked decent today; Banks didn't practice.

Waydale Jones transferred, so he shouldn't be on the depth chart at WR. Also its Kern, not Kearns (he's a QB we had a few years ago that transferred). Other than that I just have small disagreements but overall agree with most of this.

I don't think Dicks is at corner, I thought he was at rover, but might be moving with Masterson back. Also I would think Nash is ahead of Clapp but not really sure about that. I also thought Keith was a safety, has there been news of him moving to corner with the lack of depth there?
 
I really like our Dline. Best depth we’ve had in years.
Also, I think Mora could end up as our punter.

I agree on offense, except I think Morin will be backup Slot and could challenge for starting Slot. I would put Stewart ahead of Jones for the WR1. The defense looks really good across the board and should be a strength if they can figure out the second cornerback.

Based on Conor's article last week, I think Specialists are as follows:

K: Sciba, Murphy (they were the only two on the depth chart at kicker last year - Crane will probably compete for backup job in Fall)
P: Mora, Murphy (Clawson said yesterday there will be a competition at this position for the starter - Murphy was listed as backup on depth chart to Maggio last year)
Holder: Murphy, Driscoll (Murphy was backup holder last season, based on depth chart and Conor mentioned Driscoll)
Long-Snapper: Zuhr, Cobb (Turner is no longer on the team according to Conor and he is not on the current roster - Clawson said this would be one of the competitive battles in the Fall - will have Freshman at this position next year)
KO: Crane (grad transfer arriving in Summer), Sciba or Murphy
 
Really like the defense if the corners are competent.

Isn't Greene a rFR? I thought we preserved his redshirt.
 
And the transfer from Maryland will be starting on the OL

Yea I never could find out the specifics just a knee and he had surgery which bothered me a bit. An ACL year during the Cuse game would be pushing to be back for the start of the season but Clawson said he would be ready by summer
 
Greer is more than likely going to be our leader in the secondary so it’s big time whether he is healthy or not
