Love movie popcorn and an icee.

There is a theater by the service station. I schedule the car for maintenance, to see a movie and then pick up up when done. (For movies without the family and early).

Hate movie theaters when it's so crowded that you don't have any space between you and people who clap during the show.

This is a dope idea. Solo matinees are one of life’s most under-appreciated pleasures.

Several years ago the wife and I went to see a James Bond flick at the local $5 theater. We were LITERALLY (#ChrisTraeger) the youngest people in a full theater. During the course of the movie, LITERALLY every senior citizen got up to use the bathroom. Constant traffic up and down the aisles and across seats. Very distracting.

I've found that older people are usually the worst offenders on movie theater etiquette, but that also might have to do with the kind of movies I see and the demos they attract. It's usually Karen with her "let me speak to the manager" haircut that won't turn off her phone, or it's Ma and Pa Kettle who keep explaining the plot of the movie to each other at full volume. Haven't experienced the "cast of Cocoon needs to use the bathroom every 10 minutes" situation, but that would drive me nuts.

For the first year or two when movies re-open, I bet theater owners are going to be upset that they re-formatted to all lounge chairs that cut attendance by 50-70%. They will need the additional revenue.

For the first couple of months, they would sell out Uncle Kenny's colonoscopy video. People will want to get out and eat some popcorn.

I don't know what it is where you guys live, but here you can get a draft or bottle beer for about the same price as a large soda or icee. Frozen margaritas and daiquiris are about $1-2 more.

I think frozen margaritas and daiquiris got thrown out with the Brett Favre jersey. Seriously, didn't they stop selling those in 1995 ;-)

Awaken's story results in so many questions, the biggest being how old is awaken? Everyone assumes at least 65+ because of their enthrallment and continued bumping of the hot chicks thread with posting of non-nudes like they can't figure out they are on the internet and there is free porn everywhere. So if they are 65+ was this at like 11am an a theater full of 80 year olds? Was it a special senior outing day? Was this actually 25 years ago and they were 40, and all the people were in their 60s so it makes more sense.

Going to the movies is a favorite of mine. Tuesday’s at Cinemark are discount days. Cash app card boost of $3 off at Cinemark makes a movie $3.50. Yes please.

Wife and I always liked going to the movie theater. Raleigh AMC theater $5.99 matinee for the win.

I love the Cinemark in Charlotte off Monroe rd. Great seats and booze.

Found out yesterday that a friend of ours' father had a stroke yesterday or Monday and is in a coma and the hospital told our friend that she can't come see him because of the virus. He's almost certainly going to die and it really sucks for our friend that she can't say goodbye.

I've ever been a huge fan of going to the movies and would almost always rather wait and watch a movie at home. Wife, on the other hand, loves going to the movies. Now that our theater has reserved lazy-boy seating I'm more willing, but it's still not my favorite thing.

I love going to the movies, especially alone. I just go weekday afternoons or Sunday afternoons when no one, especially teenagers, go.

One of my friends who is just finishing up at Fuqua got a call yesterday that his full time offer was pulled. He and his fiancée have already signed a lease and she has been interviewing for jobs (all of which are now on hold indefinitely). Really sucks to go from having everything totally planned out to being in complete disarray.

That's a bummer - what industry? Banking?

Big cable/media company. Banking seems to be holding up pretty well. Several large and small investment banks have announced that they are accelerating full-time offers for this year’s class of summer interns.

Banking doing well because they've deployed a "fuck everyone over as much as possible" strategy to handle the pandemic. Or maybe that's just Wells Fargo.

Is Wells Fargo doing well ? Is there anything in the news from the past two year or more that would suggest that Wells Fargo was a competently managed bank going into this crisis ?

if you're still banking with Wells Fargo after the last decade of shit then it is your own fault.

They all also need to hire to administer these small business loans. And now it looks like the Fed will buy all their loser loans from them. Really juices the stock market and bond holders when if you lose someone will just buy your crap at full price!
