I am not a scientist, but I am taking Vitamin D for a mild deficiency, so this interests me. Can board scientists help with whether this is a legit study?
I don't think taking vitamin D is going to hurt you though
my physician said most vitamins are worthless, but D is on the short list of those worth taking, especially in northern areas with lower levels of sun for parts of the year
We actually discussed this here a few months back - large doses of vitamin D can be detrimental as it can contribute to atherosclerosis and there are other potential side effects.
Somewhat related, a huge population study was published this week looking at vitamin D and depression - it wasn’t beneficial.
