Ouch. Former Wake assistant Shawn Heinchon has been the men's tennis coach there for 15 years.

App. State is cutting soccer and tennis (a frequent WF opponent); not clear if it's just men's sports or both.

This crisis is really showing which universities are well-run and which ones are not in athletics and academics.

Went to check App’s twitter feed just now. Gotta be a slap in the face that the last tweets before the news of cutting sports was that they sponsored a car in the NASCAR race last night. Seems like money they could’ve spent to keep their sports going.

It’s certainly not a good look.

Just got an email that Brown is moving 11 varsity sports to club status and 2 club sports to varsity sports dropping them from 38 to 29 varsity sports.

Have to think that some of these cuts are moves that schools have wanted to make for a long time... The COVID-19 situation just gives them the cover to do so.

The Brown basketball team has made the NCAA tournament twice: 1939 and 1986. They are 0-2 in the NCAAs, and in their last appearance Cuse beat the Brown Bears by 49.

I don't think they paid a dime for that. Was gifted by an alum/booster involved in NASCAR marketing from what I understand.
