Withers was good friends with Lakers legends Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. He blamed Kareem for being late to a date and Withers marrying that woman and having to pay years of alimony to her.

RIP
 
probably the artist who i most continually underestimated how much i liked.

(so many times i'd hear a song on my discover weekly or randomly shazam it and see it was bill withers with surprise.)
 
Live at Carnegie Hall is fucking great. I Can't Write Left Handed, and Hope You'll Be Happier With Him. Shit. Heartbreaking.
