Best Starting Five+1 for 10 WF ACC Coaches

The players chosen for each team are on point. I'd replace ROK with Craig Dawson or Tony Rutland.

Odom's team wins because Duncan dominates down low. It's that simple.

I can't imagine the antics we would see from McFarland facing Duncan, but I feel certain we would all get a good laugh.

Timmy would give him the Greg Newton treatment. And hit a bunch of those 12 foot bank shots.

Yes, the Odom team wins ultimately because of Duncan...and the greatest shooter and clutch performer in Wake history (Childress) and the greatest athlete/physical specimen (Rogers). Again, this wouldn't even be close.

To get an idea as to what we have been up against over the years, here are 17 more 6-man teams from 10 other Big Four coaches during ACC history. It would be impossible to pick one 6-man team for Dean, Coach K & Roy since they have coached for a total of 93 years....so I gave each of them one 6-man team for each decade. Lots of really good teams here. It would be interesting if somebody could come up with a computer game to match these teams against each other.

If you add Josh Howard to the Odom group, I'm pretty confident they'd be in the top few of these imaginary teams.

I think the Odom, Bones & Tacy teams would all be very competitive with these other teams. It's amazing, though, how many great teams have played in the ACC over the years. And this is just the Big Four. You could also come up with some great teams from Lefty & Gary Williams at Maryland, Terry Holland at Virginia, Bobby Cremins at Ga Tech, Frank McGuire at South Carolina when it was still in the ACC, as well as the other ACC schools. During the 13 years when Tacy was at WF every school in the conference except Maryland made at least one Elite Eight, and 4 of them made a Final Four. It's surprising that Maryland didn't, though they made three Sweet 16's during that time.
