RJ's political-1947 NYC vaccinated 6M in <1 month -Lin Wood says he's 2nd coming

Do you think if Kanye runs that it'll pull a significant amount of votes from Biden and give Trump the presidency? That's my fear...Otherwise, I feel it would be extremely entertaining and our country needs entertainment right now.

Kanye might take a few teenie bopper votes but few others. Also, each state has specific and sometimes onerous laws about getting on the ballot.

I guess being bought off by Trump didn't work.

I don’t think it’s entertaining at all but no I doubt he actually does anything.

It takes a reasonable ground game just to get your name on the ballot, which takes hard work. Judging from Kanye's music hard work really isn't his bag.

Sincerely held religious belief is such a ridiculous term/legal standard. There is absolutely nothing preventing your average person from creating their own religion and “practicing” it to opt out of whatever it is they don’t want. Of course the courts wouldn’t defend that because it isn’t an “accepted” religion. Just like the courts routinely deny rights to prisoners when they’re requests outside the mainstream religion (“real” whatever this means in the religious context or not).

I mean just look at what specific provisions of the Bible some Christians cite to defend these sincerely held religious beliefs while they wholesale ignore others from the same book. It’s a pick and choose situation.

I don’t disagree but the Petitioner is a Catholic organization for women. Fairly sure the Church has a long history of its Pro Life (including anti death penalty) position. It’s absolutely sincerely held.

At least the Catholic Church can honestly say they are "pro life". They oppose abortion, take care of millions needy people and vehemently oppose capital punishment. A reasonably large majority of Evangelicals are anti-abortion but support the death penalty.

Supreme Court has voted 7-2 that Trump cannot say no to NY DA/Grand Jury. Trump's saying he's "absolutely immune" has been tossed out.

Second decision makes Congress narrow the scope of their requests but he isn't above the law.

The reality seems to be that Trump will have run out the clock in Congress until after the election.

I wonder if Congress continues to look at him after the election and it shows great Russian involvement and other scams will it hard the Trump brand. Remember, the people who love him the most can't afford to stay at his properties or play at his courses.

while I am certainly a born-again Christian, and I am probably an "Evangelical" (whatever that really means), I find the disconnect between abortion and death penalty positions infuriating.

I also find the focus on gay marriage and other matters of personal sexuality to be ridiculous. "Christians" who judge others' sexuality are ignoring Jesus' teachings right and left. I am divorced and have committed adultery in my life; the big differences between my sins and homosexuality are that 1) my sins are in my past and my lifestyle doesn't lead to repeating them, and 2) my sins are quite clearly spoken to by Jesus, who said nothing about homosexuality. So IF homosexuality is a sin, it's still no worse or better than any other. Judging "Christians" who worry about homosexuality are just relieved to get to crap on someone else's sin since they aren't susceptible to that one. No love in that.

have you read Commander in Cheat by Rick Reilly? Hilarious book if you like Reilly and find Trump to be a buffoon.

They adhere to selected excerpts of the Old Testament while ignoring the messages of the New Testament (the part that makes you Christian). They claim to love Jesus while ignoring what he says. And never allow the contradiction to enter their mind.

“Selected” excerpts is key because the dietary type stuff is obviously out of date allegory but the handful of passages referencing homosexuality is the straight up send-you-to-hell words of God

Have not read Reilly's book. Isn't that where he lets everyone know Trump course employees call him Pele?

Since, I can't post random thoughts anywhere else. I have to do it here. Billions upon have spent researching, producing and marketing products that grow hair. Countless billions have been made selling those products. Why hasn't any reverse engineered the research to create a pill that blocks growing a beard. You could make untold billions from people who don't like shaving. Hell, this could be expanded to all body hair. Companies would have to have armies to count the money women would spend not to have to shave.

This seems so obvious. I'm surprised it hasn't happened.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump's biggest worry is getting DeutcheBank to testify that hundreds of millions to billions of loans they made to him were guaranteed by Russians and Putin's bank.

exactly. i find this infuriating. I can see why God, who calls us to love one another, would lay out the Ten Commandments and other "interpersonal" sins. It makes sense that He wants our hearts and minds to be pure and free from sin, such as sex outside of marriage and objectifying women through porn (and the Hot Chicks Thread.) But He also gives us natural and true sexual urges and He made shellfish delicious, so I'm okay with the possibility that both the command to not be homosexual and the command not to eat shellfish were both superseded under the new covenant.

yes on the Reilly book. it was a fun quick read.

on your hair idea, i'm in to invest in some kind of permanent Nair.

I guess beards are tougher than leg hair, but it's billions to look into.

Maybe they could make scented Nair for the face.

I hope Biden puts Trump's portrait over a urinal in the employees bathroom. The splash back could match his facial hue.
