But it's not because the teams don't play regularly. App hasn't beaten Wake in 20 years despite having won 3 of the past 6.

Also, Wake has fared significantly better against NC State and slightly better against UNC-CH in over 100 games each than App has against Wake in 23 games.
 
App state was a joke because for decades they played JV college football. That’s why it was embarrassing to play them. It was an excuse for those hillbillies to load up the covered wagon and bring moonshine down the mountain to the big city. Once they got here, Pa would the dentist for his once a decade tooth cleaning, sis would go over to Hanes Mall and search out some high fashion at Sears, and Billy Joe would take his date to Mountain Fried Chicken to impress her. None of those rednecks can read anyway so who cares about bulletin board material? Now if someone puts it into a color by number picture for them, maybe with some cows...well, they’ll know that Wake thinks they suck AND they’ll get a degree in animal husbandry at the same time.

Man there is no worse feeling than being high as shit and having something bad happen that triggers a lot of emotions or requires a fight or flight response. That's how App State fans feel all the time.
