Cancel the hot chicks thread

I'm sorry, the correct title is the "Female Empowerment Thread."
 
Lol just statistically speaking something like 10-15% of the images posted were of women sold or forced into sex slavery.
 
I feel like calling people "total fucking idiot," "old white boomer," and "snowflake" probably does more to poison the atmosphere and deter people from posting here than a handful of pervs creeping out on awaken's thread. If you want more people to post here, the best place to start is by being nicer to people.
 
National Center on Sexual Exploitation has some good resources; the pornography industry is full of people either physically abused, blackmailed, threatened, forced via faked legal documents, promises of fame + money + green cards, or forced via drug and alcohol reliance from human trafficking and prostitution into other kinds of sex work.

But get you all some big titty honkers! It's like roulette, maybe only 1 in 10 was stolen from their homes in eastern Europe!

Fortunately, sex work + technology has forged a way forward for non-coercive sex trade (Onlyfans, etc.) but laws haven't been particularly kind in the past decade.
 
There is a massive difference between the sex trade (which of course exists) and a thread about attractive women on a message board that sees about 100 regular users and maybe 300 or so more lurkers.


And if you have a problem with the hot chicks thread for the reasons just given... then I'm POSITIVE that you don't watch porn either, right?

What has happened to you in your old age?

I’m fine with deterring old white trump voters from posting here. It’d be nice to have more women, people of color, and young people.

If you've gotta look at nude strangers, there are ways to do it that more or less entirely ensure you aren't watching people coerced or forced to have sex on camera.

I remember when I found out that Doral was leaving early and asked if any current students had seen him around campus. The response was depressing. No current students post on this board. This forum is getting old, man. If we didn’t have 14 occasionally playing mafia Townie would be the young, hip poster.

What's happened to me to cause me to think that those types of personal attacks are bad? I'm not sure. Maturity? Self-restraint? Kindness? I slip up myself, more often than I'd like, but the frequency and intensity of those types or remarks make this place unbearably toxic at times, especially over the last couple of years

Haha I've never personally downloaded porn either.

I posted HUNDREDS of pics on that thread at one point and went on a purge a few years later.

If you're actually interested in driving down demand for human trafficking via your pornography selections, there are user-generated communities of sharing sex content that protect sex workers without threat of exploitation.

100% not naming names, but I really don't think the posters that engage in this behavior don't care. It's possible that they make those posts to feel part of an in-group. If that's the case, I don't think they will realize how hypocritical and destructive that type of content is.

But it makes them so easy to fuck with. Most of the time they don't even realize it. Hell, they can be told they are being fucked with but their arrogance, jealousy and group-think are so strong they just keep acting the same way.
 
If you'll note I haven't suggested I am in favor of "canceling the hot chicks thread," just arguing against dv7's bad take.

My biggest complaint about it is if it in anyway contributes to the size of the db getting too big and slows down the boards.
