Should DC hold a strike or Tax revolt?

Dems should do it not because they give a shit about the people of DC but simply to stack the senate. After watching the shameless self-serving partisan bullshit of the last four years it’s time to return the favor. The pubs would do it in a fucking heartbeat.

They have. That’s why we have two Dakotas.

Combine the Dakotas. Downgrade Mississippi to a territory. Add DC and PR.

Hell, offer MS to Andorra or Chad or any country that will take it. We'll throw in a Beyoncé or Blake Shelton concert (their choice).

Don't forget disenfranchised colonial territories like Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands. These territories are in the United States until the US cedes them to the people.

Down with that. Add them or let them leave. That can be step two when we turn Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama into one big shithole state. I'd be ok throwing in the trump family (and any political appointees in their admin) they'd probably love to wallow in their racism and adulation for them. No more federal money though. Gonna have to pick themselves up by their bootstraps.

Also combine Maine, NH, and VT. Only 3.3 million people and pretty small.

FWIW, the demographics of DC are changing. In 1970, DC was 71% black. As of 2018, DC was 46% black, 33% white, 14 % latino, 5% Asian.

DC provides more federal tax revenue than 23 states, and as compared to the 50 states that have two senators and voting representation in the house, DC pays the most federal tax per capita by a large margin.

Complete abomination that DC has no voting representation in Congress. The rationale behind keeping DC without a vote in the governing chambers of this country is purely racial and political bias.

How did I miss this thread, TITCR.

No chance on statehood but D.C. should have congressional representation based on population which currently equates to one House member.

And the Marion Barry statue exists... and it's spectacular
