Cold War Spy Mafia

Deadlines at 10:30, 1:30, 4:30

The year is 1960. 15 years have passed since World War 2 ended, but the scars are still visible across the globe. The world order has been split. Two fading empires have built strong intelligence operations: The Brits and The Soviets.

In this game there are two spooks, each trying to build their own spook intelligence service. They have a recruitable pool of intelligence officers from across the globe. There are two retired intelligence officials simply trying to live their life post-war in peace, acting independently, trusting nobody, only winning if they are the last man alive. And there are civilians, each with a job to do, winning if no spooks are left alive. Times are serious, and it serves every player best to trust absolutely nobody except the moderators. Moderators may not answer every question, but when they do, they will always tell the truth.

Standard rules this game, if you have any questions, PM the moderator.

No majo at 8 players left
Tie at end of round will have 10 minute overtime, first vote or switch will decide, if still tied after 10 min, RNG will decide

Knight, Crow, British civilian, news agent - Make no mistake about it, in the Cold War was a war of information, and you play a vital role in propaganda, er, reporting the news of Britain. Specifically, you must report on the crop yields and the factory widgets produced. You are therefore reliant on hearing from both the British farmer and British factory worker each day. Even if you don’t trust what you’ve heard about crop yields and factory widget reports (or you haven’t heard any reports), you still must submit a report each day with the British numbers in order for your vote to count. The report will include crop yield numbers in tons and factory widgets in # of widgets. If the farmer or factory worker are dead, you have no choice but to trust the politician for this information. For every report you submit with 100% correct information you may submit a name for investigation at night that will return the result: town or anti-town. You win when all spooks are dead. You may visit the London cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator

Da, Dove, Soviet civilian, politician - In these tumultuous times you’re trying to keep your civilians safe, and you’re worried about the growing influence of intelligence agencies, foreign and domestic. You play a crucial role in the information wars that underpin this game. If either the Soviet farmer or factory worker are dead, you will receive the information they got and pass it along publicly, or you may choose not to. You need to make the Soviet Union sound strong, so you try and play up how many more crops and widgets you’re producing than Britain. You do so by PMing the mod at night with a report. It should say either “The USSR has a stronger crop yield than Britain” or “The USSR has produced more widgets than Britain.” This information will be passed along to Soviet intelligence mafia, who will have to determine whether the information is true or not. If they correctly guess whether the information is true, their night actions will succeed. If they are incorrect, their night actions will fail. Once you are dead or if you fail to submit a nightly report all mafia night actions will succeed unless another play can stop them. You win when all spooks are dead. You may visit the Moscow cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator:

Gouda, Bluebird, British civilian, farmer - Times are tough. You’re just trying to survive, but spies are lurking around everywhere. Men may try and recruit you, but you only care for your family and your farm, and you will always refuse to be recruited. the moderator will provide you information about crop yields across Britain at the start of each day. You are free to post this information as-is publicly, either in thread or in the London cafe, you may post disinformation, or you may keep it to yourself and not post it. You will have to learn the value of this information for yourself. You may visit the London cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator

Jman, Hawk, Soviet civilian, news agent - Make no mistake about it, in the Cold War was a war of information, and you play a vital role in propaganda, er, reporting the news of the Soviet Union. Specifically, in order to earn a vote each day, you must report on the crop yields and the factory widgets produced. The report will include crop yield numbers in tons and factory widgets in # of widgets. You are therefore reliant on hearing from both a farmer and a local factory worker each day. If the farmer or factory worker are dead, you have no choice but to trust the politician for this information. If you don’t receive any information about yields at all you must still put a report out or else your vote will not count. For every report you submit with 100% correct information you may submit a name for investigation at night that will return the result: town or anti-town. You win when all spooks are dead, and you may use any name you wish. You may visit the Moscow cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish when you enter, apart from pretending to be a moderator

Ryala, Robin, Soviet civilian, factory worker - Times are tough. You’re just trying to survive, but spies are lurking everywhere. Men may try and recruit you, but you’re too tired from your factory job and you’ll always refuse to be recruited. the moderator will provide you information about factory widget production across the Soviety Union at the start of each day. You are free to post this information as-is publicly, either in thread or in the Moscow cafe, you may post disinformation, or you may keep it to yourself. You win when all spooks are dead. You may visit the Moscow cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator

mako, Sparrow, British civilian, factory worker - Times are tough. You’re just trying to survive, but spies are lurking everywhere. Tejas, Aquamarine, Italian Intelligence Officer - Recruitable. If you are recruited, you win with the faction who recruits you. If you are never recruited, you win with civilians. As an Italian spy, your tradecraft is focused on seduction. You may make one other player fall in love with you so deeply they must vote with you every round thereafter. You may choose this player starting on day 3 by PMing a moderator. The player will be informed they have been seduced and must then vote for the same player as you or else they will be AA’d. You may visit either the London Cafe or the Moscow Cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator.

Gooner, Yellow, French Intelligence Officer - Recruitable. If you are recruited, you win with the faction who recruits you. If you are never recruited, you win with civilians. As a French spy, your tradecraft is focused on surveillance. You’ve got a listening device and access to fingerprints database. In order to gain information about how these tools work, you may ask the moderator about one piece of equipment per night. After that, you may keep these tools to use yourself, or distribute them to players throughout the game at night. You may learn about and pass or use a tool on the same night, but only one at a time. You may visit either the London Cafe or the Moscow Cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator.

Ph, Orange, Retired Soviet Intelligence Officer, independent- Recently come in from the cold, you are unrecruitable. You just want a quiet life, but these are scary times. After a long career, you have many tricks up your sleeve, but it’s hard to survive on one’s own. One night you may plant a bomb at any player’s house, which will detonate and kill them unless the indy hunter finds you the same night. One night you may make a completely silent kill, which will remove a player from the game and erase their role from the remaining players. One night you may learn about the alignment of a player of your choosing. One night you may use a bulletproof vest. One night you may learn the full role description of another player. Otherwise you have no abilities to make nightly kills. You may stack no more than two of these abilities in a single night. You win if you are the last man standing. You may visit either the London Cafe or the Moscow Cafe at any time, and you may use any name you wish, apart from pretending to be a moderator

I can’t decide if this game is going to be more like RSFs Agent 47 or Rommys Cruise Ship

Oh cool, this game is open. I thought I missed it yesterday...

***Gooner***

And as Hitman vs. Cruise Ship, I can confirm I am not a toilet.

Bym has something not pre-scripted in his entry post! What does it mean???

I had something pre-scripted last night, when I was expecting the game to open, but it was too topical for today.

Tejas, have you ever blessed your golf clubs, tennis racket, etc.?
