Not a lot of buzz about WF's return, after 4 weeks, to play another ACC team in tackle football.

Perhaps some of these fun facts will get gin up some interest

- UVA favored by 2.5
- Six of the last seven games between UVA and WF have been decided by a TD or less
- UVA's starting QB will be a game time decision; Brennan Armstrong started the first 3 for UVA is in concussion protocol, if Armstrong is out, stubby Lindell Stone will start
- After playing every single season from 1980-2003, UVA and Wake Forest will only be meeting for the fifth time in the past 17 seasons. Saturday’s game is the first meeting in the series since 2016 and just the second at Truist Field since 2008.
- To give some perspective about how WF football has progressed: Virginia had a 17-game winning streak from 1984-2000, which is the third-longest winning streak in ACC history against a league foe

From the WF Sports website:

21 - Boogie Basham enters Friday with a streak of 21 consecutive games with a tackle for loss, the longest streak in FBS by nine games.

108 - The Deacs' 108 combined points over the last two games are the most in the modern college football era and second most all-time.

45 - Ja'Sir Taylor and Zion Keith have each returned their lone interceptions for the season back for 45 yards. Through week five, Wake Forest was the only Power-5 school with two interception touchdowns.

13 - A The Deacs 43.50 kickoff return average and 15.20 punt return average both rank in the top 13 nationally.

91.1 - PFF announced Tuesday that Jaquarii Roberson was the highest-rated wide receiver in all of FBS with a 91.1 rating. He is the only receiver with a 90 or above.

4 – A win on Saturday would extend the Demon Deacons' winning streak to four games against Virginia, the longest in series history.

With essentially a four week break between the NC State and UVA games; this is more like a bowl prep than a bye week prep.

Also, while Coby Davis is still out; Bothroyd is back, Rucker is back, freshman CB Gavin Holmes is back. This is as healthy as WF has been this year by far. This game sets the tone for the rest of the season. A strong performance gives reason for a little optimism. A poor performance and the rest of the season may be slog.

It's nice to have a kickoff return average that strong, but it essentially all came vs. the Campbell Camels. WF has returned one kickoff vs. ACC teams - late third quarter vs. Clemson, Greene returned one for 27 yards. Every other KO vs. NC State and Clemson was either a touchback or a fair catch.

Not sure what is coached - but it seems to me that we err on the side of fair catching KO's vs. returning them. With Greene's speed and size, I'd like to see more returns.

I'm looking for a win this Saturday.

Pure toss up game. If Armstrong is out, think the Deacs will pull out the win.

No excuse not to be prepared. Whatever we were doing on defense against NC State needs to never be seen again.

UVA’s 247 board doesn’t seem too confident about the game tomorrow, FWIW.

RB transfer from Indiana to UVA was ruled eligible as of Wednesday He's been practicing. He's a junior for eligibility purposes. Not a grad transfer. He was 2x all state at Hopewell, VA high. Also, he was in regional finals for 100 meters in HS.

UVA has been thin at RB, so this guy will help them there.

Predict Stone will start. Mendenhall believes they can win with him and good D performance.

Armstrong only in if needed for W, that's if he is cleared to play.
