Official Election Month Thread: COUP falls short, nothing to see here

Yeah, if Trump wins I'm sure there will be - as after 2016 - lots of GOP "advice" to Democrats on what they did wrong or how they can win, and such advice nearly always boils down to: be more like Republicans. Which is pretty idiotic if you're going to have a two-party system. It's becoming the same old shit every four years, which is that it simply doesn't matter who the Democrats run, the Republicans invariably label them as socialists or radical left-wingers or out to destroy America (Joe Biden a Socialist? Seriously?) and their base just eats it up and floods the polls to vote a straight GOP ticket, all while lamenting what "terrible" choices they have, and if only the Democrats put up a "reasonable" (that is, more Republican) candidate they might, just might, consider voting Democratic (they wouldn't), and so on. There are no Democrats on the ballot that Republicans would have supported. Period.

Help me understand Florida. It just came down to Biden needing to win Miami Dade by a lot more than he did?

Well said. Democrats have to engage in a long game of winning big with every new cohort of voters and decontaminating the lies and ugliness coming from the right.

Odds shifting back to Biden. Trump ain't winning without PA and Bidens increasing his odds there.

The problem is not Democrats or their message, it is the absolute insular echo chamber that Republicans have built with right wing media that gives their base just a completely different foundation of reality.

Yep

Biden looks like he's kicking some ass

Regardless of how this turns out. I have learned something tonight. I am total dogshit at predicting election results.

Bernie Sanders, AOC, etc. are a big part of the Democratic party. That is a fact.

For fucks sake NC, so much early vote in that count. Please fucking hang on.

Pretty much. Hillary won Miami-Dade by around 30 points, Biden did far worse. Had Biden won Miami-Dade by the margin Hillary did he would likely have won, or it would be far closer.

So far 4% of votes for “other candidates” in the Tillis-Cunningham race vs just 1% in the presidential race in NC. Could be good for Cunningham if people just went for write in rather than going for Tillis

So is Joe Biden and he is the most centrist ass candidate you could possibly imagine.

Cleveland Ohio, oh me oh, on my oh, oh, Cleveland Ohio.
