2020-21 NCAA Men's Basketball Thread - Will the Zags Go Unbeaten?

OK State is a legit NCAA Championship threat.

They are supposed to be on probation.

The NCAA is a joke.

It’s funny how teams can just accept the punishment in years they suck (GT last season), but OK State can appeal because Cade Cunningham is awesome.

It's a bummer when teams advance via Covid in conference tournaments, but when/if this happens in the NCAAs, it's going to suck hard. Really hope that whomever hoists the trophy doesn't win the title via multiple forfeits, or even one, along the way. Obviously, the consequences will be worse as the tournament goes on. If a team advances to the Final 4 or the national championship game because a walk-on bench jockey has a fever, it would be a disaster.

Which is why I said start the season in February and have May Madness. Colleges are covid factories. And it's hard to blame kids that age because most of them don't get seriously ill.

Yet when you look at one small sample size (15 guys) Wake team, what do you see? Whole team on basketball pause for 33 days. One guy out for the season with long term medical issues. One guy out for over two months with Covid related medical issues. Several guys who are playing, but not looking like they could do physically what they did in the first few games of the season.

And Duke is saying they’ll be available for the NCAA Tournament. They must have word that they’re in the field.

Congratulations Rick Pitino and the Iona Gaels (#9 seed in their tournament) for winning the conference tourney and making the Big Dance.

GTown and maybe Oregon St can steal 2 bids to push Duke farther from this horseshit "available" status that keeps percolating.

Huge win for Georgetown and Ewing. He’s been awful up to this point, but now they have a Big East Championship and a very strong recruiting class coming in next year. Wonder if he can build something there.

As long a Patrick doesn't try to get into MSG again.

GT with the unprecedented championship run of Miami and FSU. They should put “*” on the hat.

That post-game interview with Pastner and Alvarado was hilarious, they practically thanked everyone on the ESPN payroll at the end. Might have been the easiest championship run ever, but you could tell it meant a lot to both of them and they were overjoyed. Hope they can make some noise in the big dance.
