Mitoglou began his professional career as an amateur in the Greek Basketball League before coming across the Atlantic to play for
Wake Forest from 2014-17, where he averaged 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 96 games. He left after his junior season to return to the pros in Greece, where he signed his current four-year deal with Panathinaikos. That contract ends this summer, so if the Spurs (or any NBA team) were to sign him this summer, a buyout would not be owed. He also participated with the Greek national team in the 2019
FIBA World Cup qualifications.
Mitoglou is averaging 8.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 50% shooting in 18.5 minutes per game so far this season. He recently won Euro League MVP of the week, and he appears to be adding the three-pointer to his arsenal.
A look at his career stats show while he has only attempted 189 three-pointers during his 5-year professional career, he has hit just under 35% of them, and 60 of those attempts have come this season (so far).
