Yep. Classic conservative lies to power.

Taxes are bad. Government is bad. Just “communist” plots to take away the freedoms of good hard working neighborly folks and reward the laziness of shifty darker-skinned lazy foreigner type people.

Less taxes and government “regulations” (well…OK mostly) are the answers to our problems. It’s just an entrenched belief.
