Impeachment: The Sequel

Need 25 R's to "opt out" or 17 to vote to convict, or some combination thereof. Need 67 votes to convict if all 100 Senators vote. If half the R's stay home, 50 D = 2/3 of 75.

Good thing he’s already down a couple of cabinet secretaries who might side with him

Jessy Waters is the first one to the post...

"Pettiness". The word used to describe the events of 1/6/2021 at the nations capital less than 48 hours after insurrection.

Impeachment may not succeed but it will focus the attention of the nation on what happened, why it happened, who played a part in making it happen and the consequences that resulted. Use the strongest possible wording to make the argument and use video footage to support it. Otherwise "pettiness" will win. Insurrection, revolt, coup, sedition and treason are more accurate and should forever be used to describe that day. No time to mince words. No time to mince actions. If people are willing to forcible seize the Capital and disrupt Congress in effort to overturn the election, describe them accurately. Traitors.

Reconciliation between the the Democrats and Republicans needs to wait until after President-Elect Biden has been inaugurated, all new members of the Senate are installed and a new Cabinet is formed. Trump and the Republicans are responsible for what occurred on 1/6/2021. They need to face the consequences of their actions or their unwillingness to act. They should initiate the desire to reconcile.

Why are they still just “considering” the second impeachment.

Just do it already.

They have to draft the charges in a specific way. They are also giving Trump a day to resign. He won't. But they need to give him 24 hours.

First we have to impeach Barbra Boxer!

Slow your roll guys. Once they finish reading the emails they'll be ready to go.

Joe Walsh’s shift from Tea Party rep to rational Republican continues to be one of the most fascinating things to happen in the last decade.

Worth noting - Conor Lamb won a special election in 2018 in a district that voted for Trump by 20 points. His opponent posted selfies from the insurrection on the 6th.

Don’t worry can’t impeach him now, he is giving the medal of freedom to Bill Belichick.
