Chat Thread 2022: let's talk films.

How much money has everyone spent on masks and sanitizer and COVID stuff? So far had been using cheaper cloth masks until now. I heard from multiple separate expert opinions this past week that people in close contact with others should switch to higher quality masks, because the new COVID strains are more contagious. In Germany they are enforcing medical grade mask requirements in public transportation and grocery stores. I just spent 90 dollars on KN95 and N95 masks, and those were the best prices I could find.

True and succinct. Brady may (almost certainly does) have the GOAT career, but isn't the greatest player, as he was only the best player in his sport for a few seasons at most. Three-time first-team All Pro from the AP, two-time second-team.

another thing that makes it hard to call Brady G.O.A.T. is watching Mahomes right now be better than Brady ever was


re: masks, I honestly haven't kept up on best-practices for material, but getting an over-the-head strap instead of behind-the-ear has been the biggest improvement for me

I got a few boxes of disposable masks from work, and will probably grab a few more when I go in to the office tomorrow. Probably should invest in some N95s. Haven't really liked any of the cloth masks I've bought, including a 3-pack from the Gap outlet. But I haven't invested much into better ones.

We had a giant bottle of Purel we bought for our baby changing table pre-pandemic that got us through most of the year. Bought a couple of cheapie ones at the store that smell awful. Finally found some Purel again at the Kroger in Virigina over Christmas. I have a pocket-sized bottle of Purel I always keep on me, but just refill it with whatever's on hand.
 
we spent a fuck ton if you count daycare i had to pay for but couldn't use, not to mention lost time at both my and my wife's job

Meh. Mahomes is just a marginally athletic system quarterback.

Really? I hate the ones that go over the back of the head, but I also like wearing hats soooo.....
 
I was firmly Team Peyton in the mid-00s when that debate raged because I hated the Pats, hate(d?) Brady and thought Peyton was the much better talent. It became clear after a few years that Brady went on to the much better career. Glad Peyton got the 2nd ring, wish it didn't come against the Panthers, and no he didn't really do much on his own to win that game. Although he was great his first couple of years in Denver.

I wear hearing aids and glasses, so adding mask straps was just too much going on behind the ears -- slingshotted my hearing aid outside once and had to hire a metal detectorist to find it

I also like that I can drop it my neck when not using it

dude has like a short-step waddle that looks like he should be nowhere near a football field

yeah, as a glasses wearer the 'over head' is infinitely more comfortable
 
My work sent me 10 like t shirt material masks and that’s what I’ve mostly used till now since I can just throw them in the wash. I also have a couple handmade ones that are a bit more comfortable.

Why do they put so much gross fragrance in sanitizer? Who wants to smell so much like this stuff? My kids love this little bottle with rose scent and every time they use it the whole house smells like near retirement age teacher perfume. Fucking nasty. Just give me the unscented alcohol that dissipates immediately.
