Wake Golf 2024 - Women’s ACC Tournament April 18-21; Men's ACCT April 19-22

These days complimenting looks equals sexual harrassment, as wild as that is.

Team is out early today and -2 over a few players on the first couple of holes.

Man, this course is really short. Par 70.

Nine of the Par 4s are less than 400 yards. Total yardage is 6409 and that includes #18 which is a 580 yard Par 5.

Playing 6,400 yards and someone from Sacred Heart barfed up an 85. Yikes.

Looks like the men's team is peaking at the right time.

Very short course for this level.

There are 4 other regionals. Two are more than 1,000 yards longer; two are more than 600 yards longer. The PGA this week is being played on a Par 70 course, and 1,000 yards longer than the Yale Course. 6400 yards is about average for a college women's course.

Yeah second round on course where we went -4, 3 at -3, and -2 on day one. Someone could end up going super low in the last two rounds.

It's still a fantastic course though.

If there was a team I expected to be 11 strokes clear of the cut line halfway through, it wasn't the men's team. well done.

I can't believe they're playing this course for a regional. It will be in no way shape or form a good leadup to grayhawk. But it doesn't matter really as long as we get through!

Well, that didn't take long. UNC has made up 9 shots in a few holes, and WF and UNC are now tied for 1st. 9th hole left some scars for WF.

FWIW, unc played the back 9 first, which has the par 5s. Should be the easier side.

Still safely about the cut line which is the ultimate goal here. Another regional Title would be nice

Deacs will be sleeping on a one shot lead over UNC, but as noted above, the main goal is to finish in the top 5 and advance to the NCAA Championship. Looking like WF will hold a 16 shot lead over the current 6th place team (Illinois). 4 of the 5 WF players are in the top 10. Deacs traveled to New Haven hungry, and will not dine in expensive restaurants, until the mission is accomplished.

Deacs and UNC will paired together tomorrow. Will be a fun head to head tune up for the NCAAs. Deacs tee off at 7:30 tomorrow morning.

Based on seed, the Wolfpack should be in position to advance. Instead they are 33 strokes off the cut line.

Is there really any benefit to winning the regional other than being able to say that we won?

Not really. The point of sports at the college level is to compete and win. Only one of the 300 D1 teams is going to win the NCAA men's golf title; so, winning as many other titles along the way is an accomplishment.

I'm really glad that WF pummeled UNC in basketball in January. In the end, winning that game didn't mean a lot other to say that WF beat UNC. That alone feels good. Didn't feel as good after WF fell off the bubble and UNC danced into the NCAA finals, but was still better than losing that game.

That WF/UNC game was my daughter’s first college bball game, so yeah, that game mattered. A lot.
