Wake Golf 2024 - Women’s ACC Tournament April 18-21; Men's ACCT April 19-22

Didn't realize that was an 11:30 local time start. Going to be rough out there. Wonder how it will affect scoring.

I also don't think they use daylight savings time there, so its really 3 hours behind EST

A balmy 94 degrees for the Deacs' tee time today. Seems like a huge advantage for the teams that start early this week. A&M in the clubhouse at +4 seems to be a very likely leader after day 1.

I always have to be reminded about the goals here. What place are we shooting for after how many rounds?

Someone on the boards last year posted (seemed from much experience) how to prep for the heavy heat. Lots of prep needed with attention to detail. Our team seemed to be playing real well until the last several holes when the heat went very high and we faltered. Hope we take that detailed advice better this year. Seems like it was the men's team. Might not have been caused by the heat, but very possible.

Wake doing very well in comparison to their playing partners so far. Not sure whether the front or back is harder yet, so hard to compare to the other top teams.

RK had a rough day. She will bounce back tomorrow

Yeah, not a good day, but still in reasonable position. I don't think you would ever expect to drop Kuehn's score, so as long as she is back in form tomorrow, they should be fine. As mentioned earlier, they still significantly outplayed the schools with which they were partnered. Both OK State and San Jose State were +19 and one shot out of DFL on the day. Generally seems harder to shoot low when both other players are struggling as well.

Deacs in the first group to tee off, and they placed Rachel Kuehn in the first group of the day -- 6:30 am tee time. Hope WF takes advantage of the cooler conditions.

Ladies taking the gas right now. Much closer to DFL than first.

Iur #1 playing terrible is really hurting us but if we can keep it to just a minimal amount of over par for this last nine we should not be in too bad shape.
