Wake Golf 2024 - Women’s ACC Tournament April 18-21; Men's ACCT April 19-22

South Carolina wins team playoff 23-22 and will advance to the final round of stroke play

Good season. Anytime you win an ACC championship you have reason to be proud.

Grayhawk Golf Club has not been kind. Maybe the men can change that next weekend.

FSU makes NCAA match play…we beat them for ACC title in final match

FSU out

2, at most, of the top 8 teams in the nation will be in the semifinals - #1 Stanford (pending) and #2 Oregon (already through)

Having a tournament that knocks out many of the best teams before the premier event without some kind of handicap seems shitty.

Maybe so, but even if it was handicapped, WF wouldn't have advanced. Really an inexplicably awful result for a loaded women's team that, all season, routinely crushed almost all of the teams that made the championship round. The WF women played in 9 tournaments with elite fields during the season and finished:

3rd, 1st, 1st, 4th, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 1st and 3rd. Finishing 16th after three rounds in the NCAA Final is hard to fathom, even factoring in the variability of golf.

Heat wasn’t a factor. What are factors are not playing Greyhawk well and generally making too many doubles and a few triples each day. Right now we weren’t one of the top 8 and more importantly after being ranked 4, 3 and 1 during the season not making the top 15 is disappointing and unexpected. Rachael w two non counting scores and nobody cracked the top 42 players. Next year could be very special w Rachael, MIMi, Lauren, Caroline and Emilia though it’s golf so they still have to maintain a high level.

Kim said at our SCC fund raiser that her team stated everyday thinking about Duke and Stanford. This focus and aspiration gives me hope over the next few years. Rachael and Emilia will both be in the Curtis Cup which should help. BTW the girls will be playing in the second annual Stephens Cup named after Jack Stephens who was the Chairman of Augusta National. This years event in October will be played at Seminole Golf Club and I’m hopeful the men get an invitation too. Warren Stephens wants this to be the premier college golf event in the country. As it stands now some invitations extended the goal will be at least 5 of the top 10 schools on each side. I would highly suggest a trip down there to see the Deacs, the course and what’s been said is one of the most beautiful, functional clubhouse n golf.

Lastly men have a practice round tomorrow then start for real on Friday. Guys have been on an heater for 2 straight now so hope they can attack and get a couple rounds in that will position them for a final 8 as opposed to a missed cut…Alex needs to continue his good play and take those vibes from Cameron and Will

Can we just go ahead and get the pants talk out of the way now?

Grayhawk is challenging today. None of the 15 teams that played in the morning wave are under par.
