Wake Golf 2024 - WF Women Struggling In Moon Golf Invitational

14 shots clear of 6th. We're good. Nice rally the last couple holes yesterday and today.

Imagine what's going on in Washington message boards with their +19 so far today to miss the cut

Nothing is every easy for WF. WF has a 7 shot buffer over the 6th place team (Florida), but they are playing what has been the easier 9.

We do not have enough separation between us and Denver and UF who have a lot of golf to play on the back nine, including both those par 5's that everyone has been owning.

Currently tied with Pepperdine. If we can beat them, it won't matter what Florida and Denver do on the back 9.

Fitzpatrick has one hole left, birdie and he wins the tournament outright, and gets us up to second.

He bogeyed so he gets 2nd. Pepperdine also bogeyed so we're safely moving on. We'll most likely end up finishing 3rd as a team.

Wow, Denver is choking hard right now. Looks like Florida may eek in.

#1 overall seed Oklahoma with a massive comeback moving up 5 positions on the last day with a 10 under par round to secure a spot in the finals.

Where in the world did East Tennessee State come from?!

ACC representing....Clemson, NC State, FSU (#1 in their Regional on their home course), UNC, Louisville, GT, and the Deacs, all in the Finals.

Now what happens from here? Where are the finals and how many teams will qualify?

Who cares? It is golf and you can have a great week! We finished in Top 6 and advanced. Did our job. Ho Deacs! Go Coach Haas.

NCAA Women's tournament is is underway. WF tees off in a bit - follow the action here

From the preview on the WF website, a wrinkle in the rules this year:

"We're allowed to bring six players and you can sub out," Lewellen said. "We've never done it, so I feel like a rookie. Going out there in 100-degree weather with that much golf, there definitely could be some strategy at play here. We want to achieve our goal of making the top-eight but be able to sub some players to keep them fresh for match play. We want to be fresh and energized. We have many scenarios going on in our mind. It'll be new for everybody.

"We have six great players. We used Vanessa last week, and she played great for us. She's coming back from injury, and we put her straight in at regionals and she did well. We need reps for her, because she will be with us as part of the six going out there. We'll see how we end up subbing and how that plays out, just like it will be interesting to see how other teams handle that."
