As good as Liverpool were above their competition last season, their utter failure this season just again illustrates how BRILLIANT of a manager Sir Alex Ferguson truly was in this game.

Here are the repeat Champions in the Premier League Era (1992-present):

1992/93 + 1993/94; Manchester United (Sir Alex Ferguson)
1995/96 + 1996/97; Manchester United (Sir Alex Ferguson)
1998/99 + 1999/2000 + 2000/01; Manchester United (Sir Alex Ferguson) *** NOTE: first "3-peat" since 1984 in English top flight football ***
2004/05 + 2005/06; Chelsea (Jose Mourinho)
2006/07 + 2007/08 + 2008/09; Manchester United (Sir Alex Ferguson)
2017/18 + 2018/19; Manchester City (Pep Guardiola)

Of all those repeat Champions only two also won the top European trophy of the Champions League: 1999 Manchester United and 2008 Manchester United.

Klopp is clearly a good manager but this season suggests he isn't among the greatest.

Lindleof completely beaten for strength there and United take their customary deficit in the first half on the road. Glad we got that out of the way early today!

What a great volley by Bruno. And Shaw with another great cross.

Snodgrass cannot follow the GK like that and impede his movement. Do your fucking job, ref

then the ref blows for HT as United are on a 3 v 1 break from a defensive corner

clearly the dudes in the smokey backroom have been paid off by Big Sam. There is no other logical conclusion!

Lol that’s never a penalty

Fortunately he’s also offside

Surely Maguire is able to keep his feet better than he’s shown today
