Holy shit there’s like an 8 year old kid in here this morning jogging on a treadmill with her mom. That’s fucking child abuse.

i'd think getting two people on a treadmill is dangerous no matter how old they are.

Mako - have you backpacked the Linville gorge loop recently? Thinking about doing a weekend with my oldest in May, but haven’t been in a couple of decades. The river crossing concerns me. Last time I was there there was a bridge, but recent posts in AllTrails say that’s gone.

I haven’t done anything but hiked to the falls in a long time, but let me holler at my boy this afternoon and I’ll see if he knows anything. He lives out that way and hikes the area a lot.

today is tough - fridays AMIRITE. I'm at 23 min but still have 25% or so to go.

I was deciding between a subscription to the Athletic and Defector and ended up choosing Defector, because it isn't football season and I thought there would be more articles that I would be interested in during this lull. I am now having a bit of buyers remorse, as I check the defector site now and don't really find too many things I want to read. Maybe this is just old man yelling at the clouds about paying for something I use to get for free (good deadspin), but I am getting the feeling I should have done the Athletic instead. Unfortunately I already paid for a year of Defector.

I’m confused Cav why your wife rushed to Alabama one week early when you said she was a teacher and teachers are eligible, many scheduled through the districts, starting Monday.

She’s not a teacher, but her title is “Public Health Educator”. Alabama’s definition is much more broad.

I rip it, hardcore like porno-flick bitches,
I roll with groups of ghetto bastards with biscuits

I pay for both and don't regret it. I got The Athletic as some 50% off deal a couple of years ago but it's been worth whatever it auto-renews at. I think with Defector you can just feel good about supporting journalists going out on their own and not getting fucked over by corporate management as they were.

So Avett Brothers tickets for an Asheville show in November go on sale today, and while I'm not dying to go see the Avett Brothers, I'm dying to buy tickets to something.

So when does that new Space Jam movie come out. Can't wait to talk shit about Lebron the movie producer/actor.

Avett Brother's played at my Cousin's wedding in 2005.

I worked door at a bar they played at frequently in the early 2000's. I saw them play in front of about 40 people. That's basically the only hipster cred I have.

Board is dead. I kinda miss Sheep. ITC, I hope you realize I was quoting a movie and not just calling you a miserable piece of shit on the Dr. Seuss thread.

I think his wife went to high school with them in Elkin, NC and they were all still friends. Literally, the day before the wedding they finished their first national tour and were kind of blowing up... but they kept the promise they'd made a year before to play this wedding.
